'The Bitcoin Standard' author becomes economic advisor to El Salvador

Dr. Saifedean Ammous has been named the Economic Advisor to the National Bitcoin Office of El Salvador. Ammous is the author of The Bitcoin Standard, a book that explains Bitcoin.



The Austrian economist joined the team as the Office's counselor for issues relating to different economic policies, it was announced on May 30 by the Office.

The Bitcoin Standard, a now-famous book by Dr. Ammous, first came out in April 2018 and examines the shift from reliable stores of value to inflated assets and fiat currencies. Additionally, it examines the development of money and demonstrates how monetary systems have evolved along with civilizations.
